Eray Alan creates digital products.

He works at Accenture Song, which used to be Fjord, as a Senior Product & Design Director leading cross-functional product, design, and research teams. From research to strategy to execution, he plays a hybrid role between a product manager, researcher, and designer. Recently, thanks to AI, he started to have opinions on architecture and contribute to coding. He thinks soon we'll all be just product creators.

Currently, he is creating an AI Assistant for a retirement record-keeping company, working through how a model should reason about someone's retirement accounts, where humans must stay in the loop, and how to evaluate whether responses are accurate, safe, and useful. Creating AI products in highly regulated environments is a tough challenge he enjoys.

In his 10+ years at Accenture Song, he has created digital products for large corporations in highly regulated and complex industries such as investment banking, insurance, and pharmaceuticals. He is also part of the studio leadership team, focusing on craft quality and business development.

An experimental AI advisor for breakup decisions. Over two years, 200,000+ people completed the assessment and 3,500 paid for AI analysis. Built and run solo through dozens of A/B tests, with anonymized assessment data used to retrain the model.

An iOS app that uses Apple's Vision framework on-device to cut objects from their backgrounds for collage-making. No account, no cloud, no subscription — privacy was a hard constraint, and Apple's on-device models made the tradeoff trivial.

An IDE extension that allows users to add multiple comments on Markdown files and copy the comments at once, across all the files, structurally to give them to AI agents to make changes. Open source on GitHub.

A camera app that organizes videos into Tapes as you shoot. Decide where a clip belongs before recording, not after. Launched May 2025 and growing organically, without paid acquisition.

A clock face that moves around to match how you actually experience time. Drag each hour to stretch or compress the hours. Named after Bergson’s Duration theory of time. Built entirely through Claude Code.

Inspired by Rob of High Fidelity, a stripped-down Spotify player that shows only saved albums, with big covers and no distractions. Sort them again and again alphabetically, chronologically, or autobiographically like Rob. Built in one afternoon.

Virtual sommelier on Instagram. Recommends wines based on how he likes to pick his wine. An early experiment in conversational product design.

Instagram Filters

A collection of AR camera effects, two of which won awards from Meta. Early experiments in spatial interaction and treating the camera as an expressive surface rather than a capture tool.

Concept for a bed that lets two people fall asleep cuddling, then gently separates their sleeping surfaces to absorb movement so neither partner wakes the other. Obviously stayed a concept.

A data visualization of a full year of Santa Monica’s high and low tides. NOAA data turned into a natural rhythm worth looking at daily. Lived as an Instagram story highlight.

A data visualization that tracks daylight hours across the cities that matter to him, giving a pattern people experience but rarely see in visual form. Another Instagram story highlight.

Short concept video exploring consent for cameras. Before a photo is taken, the subject chooses whether to allow it. Meant to surface a question, not ship.

A 2017 Milan Design Week data viz investigating whether personality traits correlate with kebab choices. 400 respondents, eight correlations, displayed inside the kebab shop itself.

Also, writing about himself in the third person makes him feel strange.
